Carina Decker is an Associate Educational Therapist who works with elementary through high school students to strengthen academic skills, build executive functioning capacity, and support confidence in learning. She holds a Master’s degree in Teaching with an English credential from Pepperdine University, as well as a BFA in Musical Theatre from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music.
Carina brings over a decade of experience in education, including work as an 8th-grade English teacher at Culver City Middle School in inclusive classroom settings supporting both general education students and students with IEPs, as well as extensive experience in private tutoring and theatre education in Los Angeles and New York City. Her background blends structured academic instruction with creativity, expression, and engagement.
Her work is grounded in individualized instruction, content relevance, and the belief that students learn best when teaching is tailored to their strengths and learning profiles, including students with diverse learning differences such as ADHD, dyslexia, and autism spectrum profiles.
A central and most meaningful part of her work is the relationships she builds with students and families. She is committed to helping students find their voice and recognize their growth—celebrating every win along the way.
Outside of her work, Carina enjoys farmers’ markets, discovering new coffee shops, Pilates, listening to show tunes, and spending time with family and friends.
